Terms & conditions

Terms and Conditions

1. Welcome to MyChefCourse! We are an online cooking school offering cooking courses of all levels. Our courses are designed to help improve your culinary skills, from beginner to professional. If you have any questions or queries about our classes, do not hesitate to contact us! Our team of professionals is always available to answer any questions you may have. You can contact us via our email at [email protected]

2. Product features. We offer on this website online courses which teach cooking techniques and recipes. The training programs are composed of different materials, either pdfs or videos, which vary depending on the course. The description of each program will provide the specific details.

3. Legal requirements. You must be 18 years old or older to be able to purchase and take our courses. By accepting these conditions, you confirm that you are of legal age and have the legal capacity to contract the products and services offered through this website. You are also responsible for the accuracy of the data provided during registration.

4. Intellectual property. The contents published on this website, such as articles, posts, pages, materials, courses, etc., are subject to copyright and intellectual property rights. These may not be transmitted or assigned without our prior written consent. Reproducing, reinterpreting, disseminating, selling, distributing or using for commercial or non-commercial purposes the contents of this website is prohibited.

5. Prices and taxes. The prices of our courses will be indicated in the description of each one. These already include the corresponding taxes. For the issuance of the invoice, you must provide the fiscal data at the time of purchase. The reference time zone for the computation of the expiration of our offers is Pacific Standard Time (PST), UTC -8.

6. Availability. The training programs will be available for purchase for the period specified in the description of each one. We may unilaterally and without prior notice modify the expiration of the courses.

7. Payment method. Payment can be made by card (using the secure Stripe payment platform) or Paypal (provided Paypal accepts the currency in which it wishes to pay). The courses will be paid at the time of registration. Other payment methods may also be offered, which will be detailed in the information of each program.

8. Shipping. The materials of the online training programs will be accessible through the corresponding online platform of our company. The student must have an electronic device (computer, smartphone or tablet) connected to the internet in order to access them. Not all browsers or devices are compatible. That is why we recommend using devices and browsers with updated software versions.

9. Returns and withdrawal. Returns will be made in accordance with current legislation.

In principle, returns will be made through the same payment method in which the customer made the purchase. That is, if the customer paid with a card, the refund will be made to that same card. If the customer paid via Paypal, the refund will be made to that same Paypal account.

If the return by card or Paypal was not possible on the part of our School, then the customer will be offered the possibility of making the return by bank transfer. For which the customer must provide us with their account number. Refunds by transfer can only be made in euros (€) or US dollars (USD). Refund by card is totally secure, but it can take several days to become effective (sometimes up to a maximum of 10 days). The money leaves at the moment of our account but the card entities usually take a few days to make the refund effective.

For data protection reasons, and more if a receipt of the refund is desired, the refund request must be made from the same email address that was stated in the registration.

The right of withdrawal (or refund) will not be applicable to contracts relating to the supply of digital content, since they are consumed with access. Being digital products, there are no material return expenses of the product, because it is limited only to access, so there will be no refund of expenses. Additionally, if products or services have not been able to be provided due to lack of customer cooperation, the customer will lose the right to a refund of what has been paid. It will also not be possible to cancel or reverse transactions belonging to already closed accounting periods.

10. Disclaimer. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for damages of any kind that may arise from visiting this website or from participating in our training programs, whether due to errors or omissions in the content, the actions of visitors, the particular decisions that may be made from the recommendations given, or the transmission of any malicious program that may occur despite having taken the necessary technological measures to prevent it.

In the case of links to third-party external websites that may be cited in our content, they are provided solely as an example. We do not exercise any control over such websites, and therefore have no responsibility for them.

11. Data protection. At all times, our website and business comply with current data protection regulations (EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data). For more information on the processing of your data and to learn about the data protection policy of this website, please read our data protection policy. You can find the link to it in the footer of this website.

12. Cookie policy. This website uses its own cookies and third-party cookies. In the footer of this website, you can find the link to our cookie policy, where you can consult all the detailed information.

13. Applicable law and jurisdiction. These Terms are governed and interpreted in accordance with Estonian law. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these conditions shall be finally resolved, if negotiation fails, in the courts of Estonia, with the Harju County Court being the court of first instance.

14. Course support and program. The client has access to a support service to ask questions related to the course content. However, such support is limited to the course material, and excludes any other type of support, such as technical support for individual incidents, technology-related support, etc. In addition, the use of the support service must be reasonable. For example, it is reasonable to have 3 or 4 questions per week, but it is not reasonable to have 20 or 30 questions per day, as this exceeds our capacity to respond and is not in line with the price of our courses. Therefore, if the number of questions exceeds reasonable use, the school reserves the right to answer them at a reasonable frequency and number, or in extreme cases, not to answer them if it could be considered fraudulent or malicious use of our resources.
Access to courses and support may be limited, interrupted or cancelled if the particular circumstances of the school prevent their provision, such as the closure or liquidation of the school, the death of the teacher, the end of the employment or commercial relationship with the teacher, or any other circumstance that prevents their provision. In such case, no right to refund or reimbursement shall be generated.

Our courses are about cooking, not nutrition. The purchase of any of our courses does not entitle you to ask questions or consult on nutrition or medical topics.

We reserve the right to periodically update or modify the content of the courses. This modification may include changing the recipes, the teacher who teaches the course, the number of lessons, or any other change that the school deems appropriate. The modifications will also be effective for all those who had purchased the course prior to the change, and shall not generate any right to compensation or refund.

As a final project for the course, you will have to create a recipe using one of the techniques learned in the course. In order to submit the project:

  • You must have viewed and assimilated all of the course lessons.
  • Projects that are too short or copied will not be accepted.
  • Projects submitted too soon after enrollment will not be accepted. If you enrolled in the course a month ago, it makes sense that you want to finish it, but it does not make sense if you enrolled in the course five days ago.
  • Projects that are not related to the course content, or that do not employ some of the techniques learned in the course, will not be accepted.

In order to take the online test, the teacher must validate the project.

15. Modification of sales conditions. These conditions may be modified at any time, taking into account the evolution of this website and the contents offered on it.

16. Technical incidents and teaching materials. In case of technical incidents, server crashes, or any other technical failure that causes, due to causes beyond our school’s control, the contents of our training programs to be inaccessible, we will work to resolve it as soon as possible.

Streaming videos have been designed for quick and smooth playback, adapting the video resolution to the speed of your internet connection automatically. However, you may increase or decrease the video resolution from a wheel in the lower right corner of each video. To be able to play the videos, you must have a good internet connection, a compatible browser, and all browser and device updates installed. Our school is not responsible for the inability to play the lesson videos due to technical reasons related to your device, browser, or software versions.

The video lessons can be played from the virtual classroom with your username and password. But the videos cannot be downloaded to your device, they can only be played via streaming.

17. Identity and owner of the website. ESCUELA DE COCINA OÜ, registration number 14985057, and VAT number EE102284685. Address at Manufaktuuri tn 18-139, 10323, Tallinn (Estonia). You can contact us by writing to [email protected].

18. Access to the virtual classroom. Once payment has been made and the conditions and privacy and data protection policy of this website have been accepted, the student will have access to the content of the online course they purchased through our virtual classroom. The user will be the email provided during registration, and the password will be assigned by the student during registration. Our school does not have access to these passwords since they are stored encrypted, so we cannot provide your password if you lose it. In case of password loss, the student will have to assign a new password through the “forgot your password?” button. Once the form for assigning a new password is completed, an email will be sent to the student so they can create a new password and access the virtual classroom. If an incorrect password is attempted more than 10 times, the account will be blocked for several hours to prevent possible hacking attempts. The passwords on our website must be alphanumeric, and therefore they must be assigned and entered carefully to avoid any errors in the digits.

If the student contacts our school from an email other than the one provided during registration and therefore has not accepted the conditions and privacy policy of this website, we cannot provide any information regarding the registration.

User accounts are individual and non-transferable. Each customer must have their own user account. Sharing user accounts or using third-party user accounts is not allowed. If we detect this activity, your user account may be suspended without generating any right to a refund.

Access to courses and video playback is unlimited as long as legitimate use is made of them. If we detect an abnormal number of visits or reproductions, your user account may be suspended without generating any right to a refund. For example, it may be normal to play 20 video lessons in 24 hours, but it is not normal to play 200 videos in 24 hours. The same goes for the number of visits; it may be normal to open the virtual classroom 20 times in 24 hours, but it is not normal to open it 200 times in 24 hours. Normally, when the number of visits is so high, it is considered illegitimate use.

In the event that fraudulent activity is detected on the platform by any user, we may proceed with the suspension of their account without generating any right to a refund.

Our School reserves the right of admission or expulsion of students. If our School unilaterally decides to expel a student, it may do so without explaining the reasons and making the corresponding refund of the amount paid. No refund entails the right to compensation for lost time, purchased ingredients, or any other expenses that the student may consider.

19. Declaration of acceptance of the use of nomenclatures. The acceptance of these conditions by the student implies that the student declares to be aware that this is a 100% plant-based cooking school and that therefore the use of any nomenclature such as “cheese alternative” or “non-cheese” or “meat alternative” or any similar term does not refer to it as such, but precisely to a product that may resemble it in appearance and flavor, but is not “cheese” or “meat” as such. All these ways of referring to these alternatives have been very well reflected on our website and in the course programs and have been drafted with utmost care to avoid any confusion. But in case there could be one, the student declares to be aware and accept that he/she knows that we refer to 100% plant-based products.

20. Disclaimer. Everything written on this website is intended to help readers and students have more opportunities to learn recipes. However, no results are guaranteed. We are not responsible for the consequences arising from the implementation of any of the techniques or recipes published on this website, nor for not being able to put them into practice due to lack of sufficient skill on the part of the student.

To make decisions that affect your health, you must act with prudence, common sense, and responsibility. And in any case, consult with your doctor. Information published on this website or any other website on the Internet may be useful to you, but it is always advisable to verify and analyze it before putting it into practice.

21. We use technologies based on “deep learning” algorithms to improve the images and videos displayed on our website. This refinement process can result in a significant improvement compared to the original content, and is done in order to provide a better visual experience.

It is important to underline that the images and videos shown on this website are intended to serve exclusively as an artistic and guiding representation, adding value to the overall presentation of the content, and should not be considered as a faithful reproduction of the products or services that we offer.

22. Website maintenance. This website requires security updates and internal maintenance of its software periodically. If it is foreseeable that the user experience may be affected due to maintenance, the maintenance work will be carried out at night between 00:00 and a maximum of 5:00 (UTC+2), as these are the hours of least traffic. In most cases, this will never happen, as the maintenance work on our website does not usually affect the user experience, except under exceptional circumstances.

23. Acceptance of the sales conditions. The hiring of any service or training offered on this website implies knowledge and acceptance of the legal conditions – Terms and Conditions and legal notice – of this website.

If you have any doubts regarding these general sales conditions, we would appreciate it if you would contact us by email at [email protected].
